    Hi Julie!

It took me a little longer to get to your post. So sorry about that. I love how you broke everything down. Framing bookish etiquette around respect (for authors, readers, the community and ourselves) feels so simple and yet so spot on.

Your section on tagging authors and the whole “reviews are for readers, praise is for authors, criticism is not” thing? Chef’s kiss. That’s exactly how I feel but have never managed to phrase so neatly. And your ARC section had me nodding along like one of those dashboard bobbleheads.

Also, when I reached your “Don’t pirate books (ever)” point I immediately facepalmed, because I completely forgot to add pirating to my own list… even though it’s one of my absolute hard lines too. Consider this my retroactive loud “YES, THIS” in support of that bullet point.

Loved how you ended on knowing when to disengage as part of etiquette as well. Sometimes the kindest thing we can do for ourselves and the community is to log off and go read quietly in our blanket fort instead of wading into yet another comment war.

Thanks for such a thoughtful, balanced post. It was a joy to read!

Thank you so much for this! Reading your comment felt like getting a big, enthusiastic nod from across the internet—so many smiles over the “dashboard bobblehead” moment 😂. I’m really glad the way I framed things around respect resonated with you; that was exactly the goal. And yes, that bit about reviews vs. praise vs. criticism always feels a little tricky to articulate, so it’s wonderful to hear it landed.

Also, don’t worry about the retroactive facepalm—trust me, we’ve all had those “oh yeah, that’s important!” moments when it comes to book ethics. And yes, the blanket fort option is seriously underrated. Sometimes stepping away is the kindest, most productive move for everyone involved.

I really appreciate you taking the time to read and share your thoughts—it honestly makes writing these posts feel worthwhile. Thank you again! 💛✨

I’m JULIE

Welcome to Bookflowerpath, my cozy little corner of the internet where books bloom and my TBR pile quietly judges me.

Here you’ll find all things bookish — swoony romances, spicy romances, sports/mafia romances, honest reviews, chaotic reading thoughts, bookish posts and general book chatter — posted in both Italian and English, because my reading life (much like my personality) refuses to stick to just one language.

So grab a warm drink, get comfy, and let’s wander this book-filled path together. Just beware of falling fictional crushes. 🌸📖
