Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. It’s all about books, lists, and sharing the love we have of both with our bookish friends. The rules are simple:

  • Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it.
  • Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your Top Ten Tuesday post.
  • Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists.
  • Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.

This week’s topic is

 Bookish Brags (or Confessions!)
(what are you proud of or… not-so proud of in your bookish life?)

(submitted by @Lydia)

  1. Read Every Book in a Series
“Oh, you liked the first book? I devoured the whole series like it was a buffet. I didn’t stop until I reached the last page of the last book… and now I’m experiencing a massive literary hangover. Please send help (or the next series).”
  2. Personal Library Collection
“Yes, I own more books than my local bookstore. All cataloged by series, genre, and sometimes by character mood. Don’t touch them—unless you’ve signed the waiver and know how to handle a first edition.”
  3. Signed Editions
“See that one on the top shelf, encased in glass and guarded by laser beams? That’s a signed first edition from my favorite author. I’ve left instructions for its care in my will. It’s basically my literary child.”
  4. Reading Speed
“A 500-page book in two days? Easy! Just don’t talk to me, text me, or expect me to eat or sleep until I’m done. Seriously, consider me on vacation—in a fictional universe.”
  5. Judging by the Cover
“Sometimes I buy books because they’re pretty. It’s like adopting the fluffiest puppy in the shelter. I might never train it, but it looks adorable on my shelf.”
  6. E-book Overload
“I have over 200 unread e-books on my Kindle… and I just bought 5 more because they were on sale. The only thing saving me from an intervention is that my TBR pile is digital, so nobody really knows how out of hand this has gotten.”
  7. Bookmark Hoarder
“I own 100 beautiful bookmarks, but somehow, when it’s time to use one, I grab a receipt, a gum wrapper, or that one birthday card from 2016. It’s a habit even Marie Kondo couldn’t break.”
  8. Read a Favorite Author’s Catalog
“You name it, I’ve read it. Novels, short stories, grocery lists—I know what my favorite author eats for breakfast, and I will discuss it in depth.”
  9. Reading in Odd Locations
“I’ve read in line at the DMV, in the bathtub, and even on a roller coaster (don’t recommend that one). If there’s space to sit, stand, or balance precariously, there’s space to read.”
  10. Re-reading Comfort Books
“Re-reading Pride and Prejudice for the 15th time is like wearing your favorite sweatpants. You don’t care if it’s predictable; it’s cozy, familiar, and no one can judge your choices in the privacy of your own home.”
  11. Abandoning Books
“If a book doesn’t grab me by page 50, I’ll drop it faster than a hot potato. Life’s too short, and my TBR pile is basically Mount Everest at this point.”

Which one do you identify with the most?

Welcome to Bookflowerpath, my cozy little corner of the internet where books bloom and my TBR pile quietly judges me.

Here you’ll find all things bookish — swoony romances, spicy romances, sports/mafia romances, honest reviews, chaotic reading thoughts, bookish posts and general book chatter — posted in both Italian and English, because my reading life (much like my personality) refuses to stick to just one language.

So grab a warm drink, get comfy, and let’s wander this book-filled path together. Just beware of falling fictional crushes. 🌸📖
