Summer Reading Recap
Prompts
What were the best books you read this summer? Did you meet your reading goals for the season? Were there books you had hoped to get to? Did you do any fun non-reading activities this summer?
As the sun sets on another beautiful summer, it’s time to reflect on the literary adventures we embarked upon over the past few months. Whether lounging by the pool, relaxing at the beach, or enjoying a cozy evening indoors, summer is the perfect season to dive into that towering TBR (To Be Read) pile. In this blog post, we’ll explore the books I read this summer, assess my reading goals, and share a few fun non-reading activities that made this summer unforgettable!
What were the best books you read this summer?
This summer, I thoroughly enjoyed delving into several captivating series. The Born in Blood Mafia Chronicles by Cora Reilly was an absolute standout. I read all seven books in the series:
- Bound by Honor
- Bound by Duty
- Bound by Hatred
- Bound by Temptation
- Bound by Vengeance
- Bound by Love
- Bound by the Past
Additionally, I ventured into Anna Zaires’ dark romance world with her Molotov Obsession series, which included:
- Devil’s Lair
- Angel’s Cage
I didn’t stop there. I continued with her Molotov Betrothal series:
- Terrible Beauty
- Beautiful Chains
And to top off the season, I enjoyed Body Check by Elle Kennedy, which added a lighter, fun vibe to the mix.
Did you meet your reading goals for the season?
Yes, despite being busy with work, I feel like I read a lot. I managed to get through all the series that caught my attention and even made time to discover some new ones. So, I would say I definitely met my reading goals for the season.
Were there books you had hoped to get to?
Yes, I had hoped to read even more! To help me with that, I got a Kindle and now I’m ready to load it up with more books. There’s still so much I’m eager to explore, and the Kindle will make it easier to dive into my growing list of must-reads.
Did you do any fun non-reading activities this summer?
This summer was filled with exciting events, starting with a bachelorette party meticulously planned for my sister’s best friend. The day was packed with surprises, from a decorated spa to a sunset aperitif, fun games, and personalized gifts.
Following this, I embarked on a trip to Rome for Coldplay’s concert with my sister and her friends. We explored Rome’s historic sites and enjoyed an electrifying concert, where Coldplay’s performance left us exhilarated. The concert was a whirlwind of emotions and energy, capped off with a delicious meal the next day.
Immediately after the trip, we attended the wedding of my sister’s best friend. The lead-up was filled with special moments, from setting up the wedding bed to receiving personalized gifts from the bride. The ceremony was moving, followed by a reception full of dancing, heartfelt surprises, and endless toasts.
August was a busy month at work, with little downtime, but I made the most of it by spending time with family and friends whenever possible. One highlight was attending Mahmood’s concert, a fun and energetic evening that provided a much-needed break from the hectic work schedule. Despite the busyness, the summer was full of joy, celebration, and memorable moments.
As the summer comes to a close, it’s clear that the season was filled with a perfect blend of literary escapes and unforgettable experiences. This summer was a whirlwind of excitement and cherished memories. Whether I was turning pages or singing along with thousands of fans, each moment felt like a celebration of life, love, and relaxation.
Now that we’re shifting into the cooler months, I’m excited to keep the momentum going—both with new books on my Kindle and more fun activities to balance the everyday hustle.
