What books got you into reading?
the book that got me into reading was The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett.
“The Secret Garden” follows the story of Mary Lennox, a young girl who is sent to live with her reclusive uncle in a mysterious manor on the Yorkshire moors. As Mary explores the grounds of the estate, she stumbles upon a hidden, neglected garden that holds the key to unlocking not only its own secrets but also those of her own heart.
The vivid descriptions of the lush garden coming back to life, the transformative power of nature, and the characters’ journeys of self-discovery all combined to create a truly enchanting tale that resonated with me on a deep level.
The beautiful prose, the richly drawn characters, and the timeless themes of growth, healing, and renewal spoke to me in a way that no other book had before. I found myself eagerly turning the pages, eager to uncover the next twist in the plot, the next hidden secret waiting to be revealed.
Do you ever go back and reread those books?
mmmm… I’ve to say that its been a long time since i last reread it
What do you remember loving most about your childhood favorite books?
Before reading “The Secret Garden,” I had never been a voracious reader. Books had always seemed like a chore, something I had to do for school rather than something I wanted to do for pleasure. But from the moment I delved into the pages of Burnett’s masterpiece, I was transported to a world where anything was possible, where magic lurked around every corner, and where the power of storytelling knew no bounds.
