Hello! here I am, writing my 3rd LTB post.

Today’s topic is: Reading Along with Monthly Themes (Jillian @ Jillian the Bookish Butterfly)

Prompts: With pride month in June, Black history month in February, Women’s history month in March, and so many more, themes related to race, identity, and social justice hold a lot of significance for many communities. There are often reading challenges set around these themes as well. Do you ever read along with monthly themes? How do you think this helps with diversifying reading? And what about the rest of the year?with diversifying reading? And what about the rest of the year?

Do you ever read along with monthly themes?

Usually, I don’t go out of my way to read particular books during certain months, such as Pride, Black History Month, and so on. I try to read a variety of books every year but to be honest, I enjoy reading a variety of books, and I enjoy novels with a variety of themes in general.

How do you think this helps with diversifying reading? And what about the rest of the year?

These monthly book reading topics help people in the community feel noticed and raise awareness, while readers outside of the group learn more about them and are encouraged to read more diversely. However, If you only stick to the monthly reading theme, it may give the impression that you’re only interested in that theme and don’t care about these communities for the rest of the year.
Although I enjoy seeing the many reading activities and lists that revolve around monthly book themes, I also believe that I should be able to read whenever and whatever I choose, regardless of the month. We should vary our reading throughout the year.

What about you? Do you ever read along with monthly themes?
How do you feel about monthly reading themes?

Welcome to Bookflowerpath, my cozy little corner of the internet where books bloom and my TBR pile quietly judges me.

Here you’ll find all things bookish — swoony romances, spicy romances, sports/mafia romances, honest reviews, chaotic reading thoughts, bookish posts and general book chatter — posted in both Italian and English, because my reading life (much like my personality) refuses to stick to just one language.

So grab a warm drink, get comfy, and let’s wander this book-filled path together. Just beware of falling fictional crushes. 🌸📖
